    Lovely new blog! I agree about gift giving. It’s my favorite part of Christmas, though I admit I also love hearing Christmas carols everywhere. In fact, I sang along with a couple of them today in the grocery store. Was that weird?

    Lovely blog, Susan! I agree about Advent being a time of preparation and have come to a compromise on degree: Once past Rose Sunday we set up the tree, play carols, decorate the house… shop for gifts. Somehow the activities themselves put one in the spirit, especially carols. Just discovered a lovely collection sung by nuns in Kansas City, “Christmas as Ephesus.” Helps me consider the amazing implications of the Incarnation.

    Thanks, Peggy! You know what I’d love? I’d love to go to the supermarket and find you there singing along with the carols. Then I’d join in, and soon we’d have all the checkout lines celebrating!
